Rheana‘s style is somewhat unique and we wanted to share commonly asked questions and answers to help new clients have a better idea of what to expect.

Q:    What’s the difference between a Psychic and a Medium?

A: Generally all mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums. Psychics give readings by tuning into the sitter’s energy  field to find information they are looking for. Mediums are able to do this AND are able to tune in to other entities and spirits that are discarnate.  Some mediums are only able to tune in to "earthbound" spirits, or ghosts, while others are only able to tune into those who have crossed over.  I am able to do both, as well as communicate with angels, spirit guides and other similar types of beings. Real mediums should be able to provide you with very specific information that they would otherwise have no way of knowing.  I urge people to avoid pay-per-minute psychics. The way they operate has the primary purpose of luring the sitter into using more and more minutes to be charged for.  They also often use fake names. If you pay someone reputable for a block of time, you can focus on the messages and information coming through with the intention of helping you, not in draining your wallet by constantly stringing you along for more minutes.

Q:  How does the shamanic part fit in?

A: My shamanic work is reading the energy of an entire situation, not just yours or a spirit's. The emphasis is in looking for  patterns or events that set things in motion that you want to change. I look at energy from many different angles, including your living environment, the energy within you and those involved or  who surround you, some astrological and planetary factors. to name a few. I can determine where the issue started and get information about how you can change it. In crises cases, I only work with clients who find me and are seeking help already, and I won’t always give you the same reading a corner store psychic may give you, especially about curses. There is a huge scam out there where they tell the client they are cursed and then try to extort money from the client in order to remove the curse that only they can detect.  If you have something negative going on in your life and you are clear in your inner knowing, have made every attempt to rule out other factors (mental or health causes, gas leaks in home, etc.), and you feel you need help, I can correctly identify what is really going on and help you to fix it. Trust your inner knowing, believe in yourself, and never allow someone else to invalidate your experience or your intelligence. Please be aware that this virtually ALWAYS requires your participation in some way in an effort to reclaim your own power. The Shaman is not a crutch, but rather a guide.

Q: How do spirits communicate with you?

A: I am able to see, hear and feel information from them. Often it’s through their eyes (or the eyes of the sitter) and includes all their feelings as they were experiencing the specific moment. Spirits are able to “show” events, symbolic images or just talk when they communicate with me. I am also frequently able to tune into them and create a link in order to communicate. After a lifetime of constantly testing detailed information and  getting strong positive client feedback about it, I feel confident that there is a spirit world filled with beings trying to reach out to us in the highest, most loving ways to help us succeed and find happiness.

Q: How can you tell if a psychic is any good?

A: There should be specific, detailed information provided in your reading that there is no other way the reader could know about. “Cold readings” are when a scam practitioner makes general guesses that fit almost everyone and then adopt the story based on the sitter’s feedback. A legitimate reader should come up with very specific information without a lot of discussion around that detail beforehand. Also, if they are payed by minute or use fake names, there is probably a "scammy" reason behind it. Good readers will usually come up with a lot of similar information independently of each other, with a few facts being unique depending on their abilities and strengths,  but the larger story should match up well. There should also be some evidence in the sitter’s life confirming some of the information, and frequently that will happen just before or after the readings.  Finally, the sitter should tune in within themselves and see if the information resonates or “feels right”. Most good readers have an accuracy level of 70-90%.  Average readers around 50%, and scammers less than that. Anyone who claims they are 100% accurate is automatically lying, no such thing exists. Even with top public mediums such as Allison Dubois, James Van Praagh or others who are tested in laboratory conditions, 70-80 percent accuracy is the norm. We can never be 100% right because even to the best of our ability, messages still need to come through us and we may not always have the same interpretation or reference as the sitter or sender of the message, so mistakes can happen, and fate can often be changed.  Usually it takes self-awareness to change it, but with the right decision or action, the course of things can go into a different direction than what was in place at the time of the reading. (This is one of the reasons for having a reading, so you can deliberately change it if that's what you want.)

A Word to Skeptics

Skepticism with an open mind is healthy and good. My belief is that one must generally go through an experience of their own first hand and weigh out other possible explanations before truly accepting or believing in psychic or spiritual phenomena. Having an open mind also allows the experience to enter into your reality, while having a closed mind will create a completely unsuccessful psychic experience. This is completely similar to takling to people about religion or politics, those with a closed mind will never hear nor consider other data or points of view, while those with an open mind might choose to consider and evaluate new information. It basically comes down if you don’t allow space for something to exist, no matter what the evidence or attempts for Spirit to come through, you can never hear or accept it even under the most perfect of circumstances. And in terms of energy, people’s belief systems have a large effect on their experiences.  Psychic and spiritual phenomena tend to come through in terms of the receiver's belief system. It will be harder to attract it in to your life if there is no opening for it to come through.

That said, there are a lot of charlatans in the psychic field. What is said about the frauds is very accurate. That doesn’t mean the entire phenomenon does not exist or that all psychics are frauds, just that where things are a little harder to prove, it’s easier for cons to flourish. Look for readers who use their real name, have reviews, charge by the hour, and best of all, go by word of mouth.  Your friends will generally have good readers to refer you to. In my readings, I try to bring you information that I could not otherwise know which is provable somewhere in your life.  That way you have some real information to consider as you decide what you personally think or believe. Above all, have an open mind, take what feels right to you and leave the rest.
